A Day in the Life of Pearl

Miss Pearl....you know, she really does have the life. She has about an acre of land to run around on all day, several huge maple trees to nap under, and more toys than you can shake a stick at---infact, that's her most favorite toy in the world! Yep, nothing like a good stick. I was outsite painting trim today, and I had to grab the camera. I know most people find it boring when others talk about the cool things their dogs do, but bare with me ok. I have no children to brag about, so Pearl is presently filling that void:) Max decided to come over and join the fun. Here they are playing tug of war. (Max is Mark's parent's dog)
Her second favorite toy--the tennis ball. I really think she has retriever blood in her. All she wants to do is play fetch! I love when you throw her stick and ball and she tries to pick both of them up at the same time.
Ok, I hate her, but I love her here. She keeps digging this hole in the same spot and it's driving Mark and I insane. We never seem to catch her in the act, so we can't really scold her for it. Look at her here, she looks proud of it! The dirt on her beard gives her away. P.S. How about that summertime hair cut? Gotta love the shaved down look!
Favorite stick of all time. She found this one day in a wood pile way at the back of the lot. That was about 3 months ago. She has since stripped the bark from it and chewed it to bits. It's great though, her chewing on it all day keeps her teeth nice and clean!
....so, there you have it. A dog's life, her biggest concern is to make sure Max doesn't steal her favorite stick.

Mckinnon Ladies 06

Saturday night, the Mckinnon sisters (Lorraine, Mary, and Carol Anne) along with their daughters (Lisa, Stacey, Suzanne, Sarah, Meagan and I) got together at Sarah's house in Moncton. We had such an awesome time. The night was filled with good food, drinks, sherades, and lots of laughs. We had so much fun that we have decided to make it a tradition! Next year the big event is going to be in Summerside. It was so nice to all be together. Great idea Sarah! Thanks girls for the great night! Lots of great memories!
Here's Stacey, Meagan, Suzanne and I. We thought we better try out the self timer on a couple cameras. I'm not sure what this pose was all about but it makes a great pic! Here's a group shot...well except for my mom, she's taking the picture. We're just getting ready for a yummy spaghetti dinner mmmmmmm!

So, along with the celebrations, it was my mother's birthday. I was going to get her a cake but their was a bit of a mix up with Aunt Mary and I. No problem though, the aunties pulled it together. My mom's cake was a dinner roll covered in homemade strawberry jam! It was great...much more memorable than a cake from the Superstore. Stace and I.
Out on the deck enjoying the nice evening. This pic was taken around 10. We had some great chats around that table.

Painting Renos Phase I

These pics were taken back in May but I thought they were worth people seeing. Mark and I took on the HUGE job of painting the kitchen, down the hall, and the cupboards. We also painted the wood trim and doors. It was alot of work but we're really happy with the finished job. We're not finished either, the other rooms are in the process of being started! Here are some before and after shots. I don't have any of down the hall, but you get the idea! BEFORE BEFORE

Sleeping Beauties

Miss Pearl has been going to the beach alot so she's been worn out by the end of the day. Here she fell asleep sitting up in the car. Mark and I got a kick out of it. She was literally swaying back and forth snoozing. Pretty Bird was having a mid-day nap the other day so I snapped this one. He's so cute when he sleeps, standing there on one leg all puffed up-plus he's quiet:)

A visit from Eric!

Eric came to PEI on Sunday (along with his mommy and daddy Suzanne & Wayne). He's so adorable and HAPPY all the time! It was this visit from Suzanne that started this website. Thanks Suzanne!!

Monday night camping with some work buddies!

Simone, Anne, Elizabeth and I got together last night and went camping at a place near Rustico, called Cymbria. The camp ground was awesome and we had a blast! We spent lots of time in the pool, and roasted lots of marshmallows. It was great catching up with these guys--we always have so much fun together.
THere we are looking at the stars:)
Anne looked fabulous in her red long jones!
We were pretty happy that Elizabeth remembered the TP.
This is in the bathroom. We were scared of a skunk that almost joined our bonfire so we drove the 100m in Simone's car.

Pictures from my recent trip to Cambridge

I went to visit Kelsey, Michele, Abby and MacKenzie for a week at the first of July. I had a great time and miss them already!! We went to Canada's Wonderland for the day and let me tell you--I don't do rollar coasters, but it was worth the $40 ticket to see Abby meet Dora the Explorer. She was so pumped--just look at her!!
Yes that is me with a jolly jumper thingy on--and that's my new neice MacKenzie--she is so adorable, I didn't mind people thinking she was mine!!!
Kels, Dad, and I at a great steakhouse restaurant.
MacKenzie, what a sweetie. She is such a good baby. I can't wait to see how much she's grown when they come home for Christmas.
HA! I love this picture. Abby looked so bored. She was just off in her own little world waiting for her ice cream.

Miss Pearl

My pride and joy---Miss Pearl. What a gal. Here she is showing off her famous crooked ear.
That's Mark's cousin Kate and her new hubby Rob Ghiz. It was an awesome wedding--too bad we had to leave early;)

Mark & I

Since it's the name of the site...I thought a good picture to start with would be one of Mark and I. This was taken recently at one of the MANY weddings we attend. This was at his cousin Kate's.
